A new approach to ecommerce for America’s oldest eyeglass brand.
In 2014 the world’s third largest producer of eyewear, Marchon, resurrected America’s first eyewear brand, McAllister. Dormant for over 50 years the historical brand was be launched with a new “try-before-you-buy” online retail model that was designed to compete with the hugely popular Warby Parker.

CHALLENGE
Marchon wanted a cutting-edge B2C ecommerce website that could sell and ship optical and sunglasses direct to consumer. It needed to seamlessly integrate with VSP's benefits program (Marchon's parent company) and offer a try at home services at no cost to the consumer.
Design concepts were developed over a 5 weeks discovery phase that including a competitive audit, focus groups and creative workshops.
Wireframes and UI designs were completed over six two week sprints saw wireframe concepts tested by real users before being transitioned into final UI designs.
